Unhappy Indian palm squirrel baby have seizures in sleep !!!

My baby is of 7-8 weeks old. From this week i am noticing that she is having seizures in sleep,to be precise only in sleep. At day time baby is very active and doesn't show any kind of symptoms but at night after sleeping she is having seizures. The baby have a history of Aspiration Pneumonia which i treated using Amoxicillin syrup (unfortunately its not completely cured).

Diet: she mostly eat mangoes, sometimes apples, very much diluted cows milk ( i know its not that safe but she only drinks that and i am afraid of "calcium deficiency" if i take it out from her diet). i provide her almonds but she never eats. she also rejects veggies.

no visible symptoms of head injury when i rescued her.

please help my poor baby!!! i can't watch her suffering in sleep.

Are these violent seizures or is it just twitching? They really do twitch and change position a lot when sleeping.

If she still has pneumonia, that isn't a good thing. Do you have access to any drugs besides the amoxicillin? If not, can you give us some info on it - the strength of the drug and the dose you are giving her?

Thi site has a LOT of information about your squirrels: http://rehabbersden.org/index.php/36...-revised-contd

I have given this link to several people who contacted them directly and I was told she was VERY helpful.

Calcium: If you have a little time, an excellent source of calcium are eggshells. Instead of throwing them away, wash them out well and gather some in the refrigerator until you have a few. First, place the shells in a pot of water and bring to a boil, boiling them for 10 minutes. Drain them, and then place in a low oven (about 200 F / 94 C) to dry for 15-20 minutes. When they are ready to come out, the shells will have become very brittle.

Let them cool, and then grind them as fine as you possibly can. A small grinder or even a mortar and pestle will work. Depending on how fine you are able to grind this, 1/2 teaspoon will equal about 400mg calcium.

Please read about the dietary needs on the site I linked to - she has the names of formulas that are available where you are that will work. I think her diet sounds deficient at this point.
