Extreme Lethargy

Hi... I need help with Earl once again. You may remember back a while ago he had MBD... that has been cleared up. I have him on the Henry's Pets Picky eaters blocks... he has been SUPER spunky and playful. About 3-4 days ago I cleaned his cage and I used pine shavings instead of the usual paper mulch I usually use. I also gave him a couple raspberries as a little treat since he has been doing so well. Those are the only two things that changed.
This morning when I went to feed him he didn't come out of his hammock right away which isn't like him.... but he came out and seemed to go for the blocks so I hopped in the showed made breakfast etc.
Just a couple hours later I came back in and he was hunched over sitting on top of his igloo where I put the blocks. He had his head basically between his legs just hunched over sleeping. I thought the worst... opened the cage and pet him and he woke up..... but something is wrong, very wrong. He is SUPER lethargic, and honestly his eyes look sad.
I held him and he just curled up in a ball tucked his head and went back to sleep.... when he had the MBD I was giving him the fruit flavored tums which he goes absolutely bananas for.... I tried giving him a little piece of one since usually he will snag it and gobble it right up... he did take it was sort of eating it then kind of fell back asleep.

Again, only things that changes is the pine shavings (are they toxic??????) and the raspberries (are they toxic???)

OH.... I HAD PNEUMONIA.... COULD HE HAVE GOTTEN SICK FROM ME???????

He is only 4.... otherwise in great health.

Remove the pine shavings ASAP, pine can be toxic! Try to hydrate him as much as possible.

It is the aromatic oils in the pine shavings that are the problem.

Is there ANY WAY he could have gotten into something he shouldn't have? Have you given him any acorns?

Do you clean his stashes out so he doesn't have access to food that may have spoiled?

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions. LUCKILY my neighbor who recently moved in downstairs from TX is an exotic animal vet. She looked into the laws and apparently emergency medicine for wildlife isn't illegal in MA only preventative..... so, Earl was hospitalized last night. He was septic, not sure what caused the infection in the first place but it got into his bloodstream and he was shutting down, his temp was all the way down to 92!
Long story short.... $800 later... he is home, on meds and recouping.

Hopefully this is the last of the issues I have with him.
