Odd Smell - New HHB

I have noticed an odd smell coming from the hhb ever since they created the new blocks for both squirrels & flyers all in one.... is this normal or do you think I should dispose of the blocks? I have contacted Leah(?) and asked her the same question and I am waiting for a reply. I have used hhb for a good 5 years+ and I have never noticed this smell before that is why I am concerned. Has any one else noticed a different odor with the new combo blocks? Thanks.

P.S.
My squirrels (greys & flyers) still eat the blocks, so they dont seem to mind.

I laughed when I read your question and had to go immediately to my frig and smell the blocks.....
I still could not say what the smell reminded me of, but I will make sure I sniff some Witch Hazel
when I go to Walmart today.

I have three packs of the old version of flyer blocks, which I have never used before, they were
just given to me over the weekend and when I opened one of them they had the exact same
odor that we are smelling in the combo pack, so I wonder what the ingredient is that is leaving
this smell in both products? --Hopefully Leah can answer this question for us.

I recently ordered HHB and noticed the smell too, to me it smells like rancid oil. Was there a change in the formula recently that is making them smell funny?

I have talked to Leigh about the hhb and she has stated that nothing has changed in the
making of the blocks... all ingredients are the same, but that smell can vary depending on
humidity, temperature etc. But --please watch for mold & dispose if white spots appear.
