I did finally release my girl Vern to the free world and she's doing quite well. She is still hanging around (yeah!) and actually sleeps in her box in her enclosure. The last two nights she has abandoned her box for her hammock hanging next to the box. Last night I thought it might be a fluke but she's in the hammock again tonight. I closed up her entrance last night and tonight though I don't think anything is lurking around, she is essentially sleeping out "in the open." (Weather has not been unseasonably hot or anything.) The hole for her portal is 3". Someone said it should be 2" and a racoon or opossum can get through a 3" hole. I read 2" is too small for a squirrel. Should I make the portal hole smaller? I am going to have to take the box down and investigate I imagine.
