I have recently started taking care of a baby southern flying squirrel that my cat alerted us to in the early evening. Baby was cold and very tiny. We were able to get him warmed up and eating. It's now been 2 weeks since we found him. When we found him he weighed only 15 grams, eyes still closed with lower teeth. Pics are from the day we found him.
I am feeding him a specialty formula by exotic nutrition that a friend got me. Every 2 hours he eats about 1.03 ml and I've been giving him a hydration solution every 30 minutes to keep him hydrated since he spends a lot of time in his nest(a reptile hide shaped like a stump with a hole) which is heated by a heating pad under the tank.
He is peeing/pooping on his own. Eyes are open and he weighs 21 grams after 2 weeks. I am concerned he isn't gaining weight like he should be as he is still very tiny. Despite his small size when he is awake he is very alert and mobile even if he is still a bit wobbly and clumsy while exploring.
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.
