Default Has anyone ever had to get a permit for their release enclosure?

    Hi TSB friends,
After some 12 years of utilizing a beautiful enclosure at a county owned park, which was actually built to my specifications, there were some personnel changes and the head of the county Parks and Recreation has now come at me with some rather aggressive questions regarding permits.

I have never been aware in all these years of a permit being needed for a small release enclosure. My main release site at my workplace has two pens, and neither required permits.

Long story short, i am getting the distinct impression that this director would like the enclosure to go away forever and wildlife rehabbing to cease on premises. The reason? He tossed me out of another nature center 15 years ago, without notice, when I arrived with a van full of rehabbed squirrels ready for release. I'd been releasing there for years. "Too many squirrels in the forest" was his blunt explanation.

Just wondering if anyone else -- rehabber or squirrel lover -- has run into this issue with permitting?

Do you know how hard it is to get a permit? Maybe it's just $15 and a form and you have a permit? Maybe wishful thinking?
