Unique colored fur

There was a squirrel on my porch today, half again bigger than any squirrel I've seen here in the 20 years living here, a gray squirrel with white fur shaped like a vest (across the upper back and around to the front, between his front legs. What kind of squirrel was this? Also, he laid down on the porch for about 20 minutes, just taking in the view, and he laid spread eagle, with his hind legs spread out flat and his front legs extended in front of him. Bazaar.
