    Default Hello and formula question

Hi, I’m Jax and day before yesterday we ended up with an orphaned grey squirrel, approx. 5 weeks old. I went through the rewarming and rehydrating steps and baby is alert and active, peeing and pooping normally. I started baby on the goat milk replacement formula and he hates it, but will take unflavored pedialyte no problem. The FV 32/40 formula arrived today but when I got on here, I saw the pinned post about never feeding this and now I’m scared to give it to baby, but this is what was recommended by our local rehabilitation (they were not able to take baby, I tried!). Have the digestion issues been resolved, or is it ok because baby is over 4 weeks old? The 20/50 won’t be here for another week.

    Thank you for rescuing 👏
I'm not sure of the 32/40 formula anymore.
If you could get esbilac puppy milk replacement in the powdered form not liquid, Petco usually carries it.
That however has to be the correct one and I hope others can tell you which one, I'll see if I can find it.
Another thing the Pedialyte should only be used for the first 24 hours.

This will bump your thread for others to see and help 👍

Found on Amazon but you would have to wait too long.
Best bet is Petco or call other pet stores.
This is the one my rehabber uses.
Make sure to get the powdered 👍

Welcome Jax! The 32/40 should not be a problem for a baby of 5 weeks old. Go ahead and feed him and then convert over to 20/50 when you receive it. If you go back to the threads about 32/40 the problem was specifically with pinkies two weeks old or less. I was one of those who lost 12 tiny ones in one season due to the 32/40 issue. I'll never use it again on a pinky squirrel.
