    Default Need help! Skin problem/swelling?

I have a ~6 wk old baby squirrel having some skin issues. Everything has been going okay. We hit a few bumps, all which worked out, now we're here. All of a sudden her skin seems inflamed in spots. A raised bump? type spot has formed on her face and seems to be causing a little bit of swelling in her face/mouth. I'm concerned it will cause her mouth or nose to swell and possibly restrict breathing. We're nowhere near that yet, but I am a little worried. I will try and upload pictures. Also, could anyone tell me what kind of squirrel this is and if her teeth look normal? The top 2 are slightly crooked. Will those straighten out as she grows? TIA!

She appears to be an Eastern Grey Squirrel, about 5 weeks old. I am not sure I'm understanding your question.... Are you worried about that bump between the two sides of her muzzle up under her nose? That is quite perfectly normal.. Her teeth appear straight to me as well.

The redness to the skin looks like formula scald especially since it is on the face and front legs. They tend to get food everywhere and after feeding you have to be really proactive about cleaning it off - not a quick wipe, but a wet rag several times then dry then bundle up and on the heat. Formula left to dry on the skin, even small amounts of it, can really irritate the skin. Is that a possibility?

Hi! Sorry I should've been more specific. She has a raised bump on her face by her eye/muzzle area. It seems a little swollen. As for her teeth, the bottom ones look normal but the tip ones are slightly twisted? Crooked? Hard to explain. I'll add better photos. Maybe you can see what i mean a bit better. It may be normal. They just seem a little off to me. As for her face I just don't want it to swell any more or anything. She doesn't seem uncomfortable but it's not normal.

That could be possible. I try to clean her pretty well, but I can't guarantee she's been 100% clean every time. I didn't know is was so irritating to them so I will be more diligent. Could that cause raised bump like places on the skin?
