    Default Baby Opossums

I happened across an opossum that had been hit by a car. I checked to see if it was a mom, and it was. There were six babies in the pouch. One was injured and another one was halfway out of the pouch. Sadly those didn't make it. Right now I have them warm. I'm guessing they're only a week old. Maybe a little more. I'm not having any luck getting in touch with wildlife facilities this time of night and don't know what to do.
    Please help

Someone on a local Facebook page told me to call the non-emergency 911 number for my county in order to get in touch with DNR. I've done that and now I'm waiting to hear back from them

Baby Opossums that are that young are very, very difficult to rehab. They must be tube fed and even then experienced rehabbers lose many. Getting them to a rehabber is their best chance of survival. There’s usually a list of rehabbers through each states wildlife organization.

Scroll down till you find the folks listed for small mammals.

Thank you so much for your reply. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. It's very hard for me to come here. I was fortunate enough to find somebody to take them finally. One of them passed away during the night. I know have a good number for a rehabber, should something like that come up again.

  7. Serious fuzzy thank you's to CrazyCatLady from:
