    Default Sandy a uti?

Sandy had a swelled butt today and at first I thought she was just in heat again but then I saw this weird rubber like (If you will) thing. Could she have an infection or something like a uti?

Also we are caring for 3 new babies in a different cage but in the same room. Her breast are balding around them or at least it seems like they are but no milk. Could it be a false pregnancy since she is around babies. We had a cat to do that once if I remember correctly.

I was cleaning the room today while she was out playing and I seen this in the floor. I am thinking it's pee pee but why is it that color? She's acting more scaredish and she built a really nice little nest that she was obsessed with today. Is she having a false pregnancy or uti or something? It seems like after having the baby squirrels in the room her breast started balding around them. She's never allowed to actually play with them only sit on a stool and watch them play stuff like that. Very puzzled about this...

Could it be she is bleeding during heat?

Hi LaShae. I just wanted to BUMP your thread. It appears that you have not had a response yet. I'm sorry! I still at work and just have moments to check in with TSB on my phone. I'll try to get back to your thread as soon as I get back home but hopefully others will see your post and be able to comment.

It’s hard to say what is going on with Sandy. At this time of year hormones are raging with all squirrels. The fact that she built a nest and you think her nipples are changing could definitely mean her hormones are playing a role in her behavior. Urine can also be tainted from consuming certain foods or if it has sat for awhile.

The obvious indicators of a UTI are lethargy and loss of appetite. Although dragging their bottom could be a sign I’ve seen squirrels do that to transfer their scent to areas they’d prefer other squirrels not frequent.

If Sandy is still eating ok I don’t think you have anything to worry about and you can assume it’s hormones.
