Default Where can I find delicious non-stale mealworms?

Just received an order of freeze-dried mealworms that smell stale. Cannot find an expiration date. I am looking for advice about how to get non-stale mealworms, ideally freeze dried, as a protein source for squirrels?

Stores like Tractor Supply sell them, as well as pet stores. It’s probably impossible to smell them before you buy, though. Personally I think all meal worms really smell bad. I’m not sure I’d be able to tell they were stale, though.

I have ordered from them for yrs and IFFFFF I get a bad batch which was once in 10yrs more then likely shipping was more the issue they replaced them.

If you get them live and you find they start morphing you can set up a DIY to hatch them.
