Default 2-3week baby with broken keg and arm

A lady needed help after trying to rehab a baby she found. She was worried about aspiration and diarrhea. I got the baby tonight and it has a broken leg and it is not moving its left arm at all, keeping it close to the body. I'm afraid it is broken too.

    Tried to stabilize.

Advice as to chance of healing??

I have had success with several (3 or 4 I think?) babies with leg fractures. They heal very well and relatively quickly (quicker than I had expected). I have never had one with more than one leg fractured though.

What did the vet say about it healing? I assume you went to a vet for the X-ray. I think if the bone is set correctly…or as close to correctly as possible…it should heal ok. You’ll have to wait until after it’s healed to determine mobility and whether it can be released or not. There have been several success stories on here about broken bones that have healed remarkably well.

Are you giving something for pain?
