I have an 8 yo female grey having milky tears every day for 1 week. I am willing to drive. If anyone knows anyone that could look her over or a vet that will not make me surrender her. She is cage mates with male fox. Please let me know if anyone can help.

Are we absolutely positive that it's cool? I'm willing to go to LA, OK, and AR. If possible I want to go to a state we know for sure it's legal. Like... What if I take her to Dallas and a different vet is working that day? I wish we could ask the person who took their squirrel there.

I just can't remember - they only posted here a couple times. They CALLED the vet clinic and were assured that it was okay... She came back after and was satisfied with them (did mention they were $$$ but that is standard if they call themselves "exotic" vets. I personally can't vouch or anything like that - I just kept the info for times like this. I would absolutely call them first.

How is she besides the tears? Is she eating okay? Do her teeth look normal? Uppers the right length, and lowers not too long? If they pierce the upper palate they can cause infections.

Oh my god. I just got a tiny look. A burritoed her and used a chopstick and I can feel that she has teeth on the bottom but I cannot see them. I think they like grown into her gum or something and I'm really freaking out.

She's having difficulty eating. Taking a very long time to eat. And my bf said he thought she was choking on her food the other day... If I could even get to a rehabber who is more experienced....

Make sure they look for odontoma, and that they get X-rays if present.

There are very few doctors who do odontoma surgery, but if you are able to drive some distance, the best and most experienced is Dr. Alicia Emerson at Ravenswood in Port Orange FL. People drive from all over the country to see her, so if you can provide her with the films they can usually set it up so you have the surgery immediately rather than a visit and THEN scheduling it...

So. She had an abscess under one bottom tooth. We couldn't see her teeth cuz they were too short.
She also had a granuloma at the bottom of the abscess tooth. Doc removed said tooth but doesn't know if the root remains and will grow back... So she's a little snagglepuss. Pain meds and antibiotics...and syringe food for a week.

So the bottom front had the granuloma and was removed?
