Curious can just a pinch of benebac powder be sprinkled on food daily just a pinch for a NR or is daily too much ?
Also for one that has been on antibiotics again same question is a pinch daily too much ?

Do you have the container? I found pics of one and there is both antibiotic and maintenance dosing on the side of the bottle. I nearly went blind but it looks like the dose you give daily by weight while giving antibiotics can be given once WEEKLY for maintenance...

The bacterial biome located in the intestinal tract makes up over 70 percent of the body's immune system. This colony is very susceptible to damage from antibiotics needed to treat infections. For this reason, veterinarians and rehabbers recommended increasing the maintenance dose of Probiotics paired with Prebiotics source to fortify the good bacteria in the gut during and following the use of AB used to counter infections.

Probiotics products that include prebiotic sugar sources like (FOS) Fructooligosacarides) that support the growth of good bacteria; have also been found to promote the growth of bad bacterial forms following their use with AB for infection.

Soil based probiotics paired with soil based prebiotic sources like, veterinary recommended, "Pet Flora", counter the growth of both bad bacteria and viruses. This same source was included daily for a number of years in the diet of an E. Gray squirrel for maintenance, at (1/64 Tsp.). It was also included at a higher dose as per Veterinary instructions, to, "load on the probiotic", with the AB the vet prescribed as per protocol to prevent potential post op bacterial infection. (1/16 Tsp.) was given daily, split portion (1/32 Tsp.) added into a moist food for each of two meals daily (AM and PM) Neither during the period of maintenance nor following post op care, was the squirrel found to have developed an infection.

In humans, probiotics have been found to improve various ill health conditions as well as better maintain overall health.

This has been found to be much the same in rodents.

In the wild during the warmer months of the year, juvenile tree squirrels pull up grasses flipping them over to chew on the soil that surrounds the roots.

This behavior observed in tree squirrels during the warmer months of the year.

After we released a fox squirrel, she came come down to the lawn and pull up the grass and flip if over to chew on the soil that surrounds the roots.

Another member has observed the grays in their yard doing the same thing during the warmer months of the year. It is a mammal thing.

In the formula I have noted, the prebiotic is included with the probiotic source. The prebiotic is what the probiotic good bacterial strains feeds upon in the gut.

This article explains that for weaned mammals, that good bacteria contained in the soil that surrounds the roots of grasses is the source mammals access.

    https://petconnection.ca/probiotics-let-them-eat-dirt/

In human diets of the past, we consumed a bit of soil left on the root foods that contain soil based good bacteria, that is it is found in soil, not is soil.

The prebiotic for, both, "Pet Flora" products (Vitality Science, and Safer Medical contain much the same soil based sources of pro and prebiotics These sourcesare protected by a shell that supports the survival of the probiotics to reach the gut. Dairy forms of probiotics don't do as well to survive stomach acid.

In humans though vs. rodents, humans do ok with both forms of probiotics. In squirrels, the dairy forms are most suitable for nursing young, and the soil based for weaned juveniles and adults; for the latter gets their supply from the soil, no longer from their mother's milk.

If you happened to be looking for a soil based pro and prebiotic source for human consumption; , "Prescript Assist" by Safer Medical of Montana, has many of the same bacterial forms as that of the pet version.
