    Default Deworming a Release?

I haven’t had a chance to pause for awhile, and stay long enough for a sighting until today. This is one of my last fall boys that still regularly comes and will still take a nut . He is so thin!! Just a few weeks ago he was so plump and healthy looking Even during the winter months, he looked better than this. I provide food and fresh water out here every single morning before work (unless it’s a downpour) so I know it’s not for lack of good food! Do I need to sprinkle some ivermectin on a piece of nut and give it to him?? He’s also the one that was plagued by bots not long after he was released . I see scars where they were My poor little man looks rough!

    I don't see a downside to that.

We had two longtime members here when I first started at TSB and they had a released female named Rocky who remained local, and even eventually started making them care for her babies (she would bring them "home" at about 4 weeks and then start running around playing all day, leading them to feed her babies)! They treated Rocky monthly with Revolution for her entire wild life, which was about 5 years.

Ok! Is it just a drop , orally or topically ? Of the plain kitten (not the plus) ?
Thank you , he just literally looks like he shrunk!
I wonder if it would keep Bots away? That would be amazing!

This was him just a few weeks back. Maybe mating season has him burning up all his calories idk. Just sudden weight loss for sure.

Aww what a cutie! I use 1 drop of kitten Revolution between the shoulder blades once a month in the summer months on our indoor/outdoor wild squirrel. It works great and it has had no ill effects.

Not the plus, just the plain selamectin.

I'd use it topically if that is an option, but it is also effective orally (as long as they actually inject it!).

Some of us have been treating the outdoor squirrels with selamectin and anecdotally it seems effective at preventing warbles. I think the trick is to have them treated before the warble is established, before the cycle begins.

Many of my NR's have this same sort of weight drop once or twice a year.

I wanted to show the tube but apparently it only says what it is on the box, which mine is long gone need to order more kitten Revolution.
I start treating all my releases here in Florida end of April beginning of May. I put one drop on half of a pecan let it soak in for at least an hour that way the alchohol smell goes away. I treat them once a month, unless one has mange then every 2 weeks till mange is gone. So far the mange was under control after just 2 treatments. Not sure if it actually keeps all bot flies off but seems to help and at least helps with fleas.
What I didn't know is that it treats them for worms, EXCELLENT 👍

Oh wow thank you!! I’ll start dosing him monthly like the dogs and cats. I doubt he would be still long enough for me to place a drop. He’s fairly skittish . Just takes the nut if I stretch my arm . I’ll put a dab of peanut butter on it too.
This is great to know , about possibly preventing the boys. He looked awful
