Red face Hair loss on face?

I've recently taken in a baby squirrel and she's starting to lose hair underneath her face, almost like her whole bottom jaw is bald. She's still on milk, and giving her oxbow young rat food to get her used to it (she's about 7-8 weeks old). I'll post a picture as soon as I'm able to get back home. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be greatly appreciative!

I do clean her face after she eats, once she gets as much as she can off of herself.. And I make sure the formula isn't too hot either 😔 do I need to clean it off immediately after she eats? I was trying to get her ti br able to clean herself on her own

Go to Walmart and get some washcloths for babies. They are thin and easy to manipulate to wash your squirrels face. I find that squirrels actually enjoy the warm washcloth gently wiping their mouth, eyes, chin and ears. I’m sure it’s much like what their mommas would do with their tongues.

You can rub some coconut oil on your guys chin to help it heal.

  8. 2 TSBers pass along the fuzzy thanks to Mel1959:
