    Default Babies Not Thriving

Sooo, the 3 littles that came in on Saturday...not doing well. All were 60+ grams on intake.
Finder had for 5 days and fed PetLac, all had runny poop on intake.
Fed 2 feedings of Electrostat only
    Fed 2 feedings 50/50 Electrostat/3240
    Fed 2 feedings 25/75 Electrostat/3240
    Fed 3 feedings 3240 at 2.5/1 ratio
    Moved to full strength 3240

The smallest boy gags and barfs after 2cc I moved him to 1.5cc every 2 hours figuring less more frequently would even him out. Did not work. SQ 3cc LRS and did a fast change to 2050. Seemed better for a few feedings, but then went back to the old routine of gagging and barfing. He is so hungry. Pee and poop is good (unsure why).

Yesterday they all had soft stool due to the rapid formula change. I assumed an allergy so I moved fast.

This morning, the boys are becoming skeletal and the girl is ok. The small boy has good pee and poop, the big boy has soft poop, the girl is good for now.

WTH is going on? Is this a FV allergy? I hate to change the formula again, but I think I need to! I've prepared the GMF formula without egg and am ready to go to a transition mix.

Due to "circumstances", I've been out of the baby world for 2 years...what did I miss?
    They are all REFUSING hydration.

Do I need to add Probiotic?
SQ the snot out of them?

I'm literally standing here scratching my head while spinning in circles. Help!

If it were me, I’d try the goats milk and see how they do and then transition to Esbilac with Ultraboost added 75:25 ratio. As long as the expiration date for the Esbilac is 10/21 or later.

    Thank you Mel!!

I went to the HmGMF w/o egg full strength cold turkey. Led with 0.3 GasX and BeneBac Gel for each.
Once we get these tummy's figured out we will add/transition to the Esbilac w/UB

    No barfing, no gagging.

These poor babies...this is the 4th formula in 5 days!

Hopefully, it's specific to these guys...I just bought a PILE of FV...

Good news. I have heard of littles reacting to Fox Valley, but I’ve never experienced it. I always use Ultraboost with my FV 20/50 along with a dollop of full fat vanilla yogurt for extra probiotics. Maura swears by the Esbilac/Ultraboost combo.

    We have progress!
I MUST give the boys their little GasX doses before eating or they WILL barf.
    EVERYONE gained some weight.
Boys poop is a little soft, but after what they've been through I am not complaining and will give them a day or so to straighten out.
    EVERYONE gets probiotic gel.

I've had a few that did not tolerate 3240 well but 2050 was great and they took off. Then there was one little one that had an awful "rash" and it was getting worse fast. Determined it as an allergy to FV, changed him to Esbilac and by his 2nd feeding of Esbilac the rash was gone.

This violent projectile vomiting...yeah that was a new one. SMH!

Hoping today is great. Thank you again.

Wow, Betz -- I have never had projectile vomiting in a squirrel baby like that! Poor boys...thank God you figured out it was the FV and now they are back on track. Every once in awhile there are babies who simply react to ALL formulas, even goat's milk. Luckily these guys seem to only have trouble with one thing in the FV, whatever it is.........As we discussed, we don't want to add Ultra Boost in this case because it is an FV product, and whatever is causing the whoops with them and FV may very well be in the Ultra Boost too. (At least you're in farm country where fresh heavy cream is actually a common thing. In da Bronx, not so much.)

    Quick update for you all.
The babies don't look like they ever skipped a beat. Big, fat, beautiful babies with smooth silky furs. And today we had a "jeepers creepers we've got peepers" with the little girl!
Tonight I started the transition to Esbilac. Date is something /2022, so it darn well better be good. If not so help me God someone is going to die...
    Anyway!!!!!!
The kids are doing great. They are all eating 7% of BW per feeding and they are the picture of health. I will get pics for you tomorrow.
Thank you, thank you for your help. That was just crazy.

Maura, I am going to do the Esbilac and HWC and a quicker than normal wean to get them onto blocks asap. These guys are NOT fans of FV. Just wish I would have gotten the memo!

Wow.....goes to show us that in rehabbing we must be prepared for ANYthing, even babies with allergies to the things we have always relied on. . And yeah, you never want to switch formulas randomly but in this case you HAD to put that "rule" aside and keep trying until you got something they could tolerate. Phew! A close one for sure.

Okay, so we are moving along through the transition onto the Esbilac and the further we get from GMF the more peepee sucking is going on! I HATE PEEPEE SUCKING! I can hear it going on 3 darn rooms away. It's spring and the windows are open...people walking by are going to hear the Mayor's wife screaming "stop sucking on your brother's pee pee!" OMG, this could go so sideways.
What I find interesting is that they didn't even think about it until Esbilac was introduced. They are all eating nearly 10% every 4 hours, 5 times a day. I cannot stuff anymore into them.
Anyone got any ideas before I take 1 bin of beautiful siblings and end up with 3 singletons? GRRRRR

I'm going to coat them in a salve that tastes awful. Am I going nuts or could this be Esbilac being deficient in something?

Dang it, I had that happen to me with 2 boys a few years ago 🙄I was using Esbilac, have no idea if that has anything to do with it as I used Esbilac with so many others and never had a sucking issue 🤔
I wish I could remember what I did, maybe I ended up separating them, which I hate.
I hope others have some helpful tips.
You sure have had such a hard time with these littles
