    Default Please help....suspected fever sudden!

Possible emergency...please help. My 1.5 year old male NR gray squirrel was up in middle of night itching. Went back to bed, woke up, plays, eats, peeps, and poops. But his hands and feet hot to touch and body feels like sweating almost. Nose kinda warm too. What temp am I looking for as I guess they can burn up fast and do damage? I put on fan and offered ice water. Bad idea? A bug...worse? Please help thanks!

99 to 101 F is normal range. Can you get his temp?

    Itching from what?

Not sure why itching, but I did see a few small flies near his cage and killed them. Can't get good reading with my temp gun. Stuck in cel, not sure if use as human or object with squirrel, where to point, and even my temp is registering whacky.

Do you have any infant ibuprophen? And his weight? If he truly has a fever it should help bring it down.

I can get those things, but the real question is does he actually have a fever. Between squirrel temp and my lousy gun variance it's hard to tell....
