    Default Extreme weather

My Teenie family ( the four flyers) are not used to cage life; they are fulltime , freestyle out on the squirrel porch. Today /tonight it’s supposed to be brutal . They are predicting power outages . They have a warm nest and I have all the drop cloths down. But should I bring them in anyhow? Is it worse for a wild to jump from teens outside to 70 inside? I have a heat lamp out there as well, but it’s not guaranteed to last. This is miserable for MS

I’m not sure which is worse....staying out in the cold or adjusting to indoor temps? What I have observed with my wilds is that when they feel it’s too cold or windy out, they stay in their nest boxes or dreys. I would think that flyers would do the same. Do they have fleece or wool scraps in their boxes or cubes? Do they sleep together? I think the combined warmth of all of them would be enough to keep them warm, but I’m certainly no expert on cold since I live in Florida.

They do , all four or at least used to. I’m going out now to check.
And yes it’s an old winter coat with a rain coat wrapping it, an the inside stuffed with poly fill and fleece pieces.. and stuff they gather.
