My grey squirrel Buddy is roughly 18 months old. I raised him from a bottle when I found him on the ground, eyes still closed, one late night. He has been losing his tail fur consistently for at least 7 months (so through seasons). No signs of mange. Diet consists of Henry’s healthy and picky blocks, monkey biscuits, squirrel approved vegetables like bok Choy, arugula, lettuces, and other high calcium greens, walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, occasional fruit, calcium in his water, calcium block to chew on and Harlan Teklad blocks on the way. He has a whole garage to himself with climbing castles and various beds, a “tree” made of 2x4’s and dowel rods with rope/pvc ladders extending to it from the ceiling. He has one full spectrum light in addition to the UVB light on a timer in his favorite spot. He also sits beside a very thin untinted window in full sunshine often. I play with him daily. His tail hair has been declining for months despite the above plus application of virgin coconut oil to his fur, cleaning of his bed and surroundings, and the last resort appropriate dosing of ivermectin. No improvement. I will attach photos when I figure out how. Please help. I want his hair to grow back beautifully but above this, I want to know that he is healthy.
