Still sneezing a little too

Not sure what you and CritterMom have discussed privately but outside the many reasons
that could be causing the sneezing, teeth can also be a culprit if the incisors are growing
irregular. Not lining up could cause them to over grow being unable to grind down properly.
If this were to happen and they were hitting the pallet this could be another reason for the
sneezing so I'm curious if you are able to check her teeth?

It is very possible that this baby has two things going on, respiratory and diet-related. The one I am concerned about is possible bordatella, because it kills quickly. The best med for bordatella is doxycycline -- anyone with a dog who ever had kennel cough might have some in the house. Because you have a past sufferer in the house, too -- YOUR dog -- I would focus on getting rid of the bordatella now, then work on diet afterward.

Just as a positive note, here, there is a squirrel virus which my vet and I used to call "Sneezles"... babies as young as 4 weeks old would sneeze and sneeze and nearly die of emaciation because they couldn't stop sneezing long enough to eat. After several days and several antibiotics that didn't do a thing, the virus would disappear . I pray that's all that's wrong with your girl, but please try to get your hands on some doxycycline.

Many squirrel like the pecan flavored Ensure, and yes it can be given.

As Island Rehabber said, you should try to find some doxycycline. This drug cannot be given if expired. Maybe you have some left from when you treated your dog? If you can post the drug given to your dog or some other med you can find, someone on here will be able to help you break it down and administer it.

Please check her teeth as a precaution.

Regarding your question RE: pedialyte or ensure - it doesn't sound as though she is dehydrated given she is drinking lots of water. Any flavor ensure will provide nutrients SHORT TERM so if she isn't eating it is worth a try. Warm it up like you would formula and see if that helps.

Yes, also, we really need to know if you have meds left over from your dog and if so what they are. Does she sneeze constantly?

I gave the dog all the antibiotics
I have Human SMZcalled bacterium
Got her to eat some vegetables too
She looks very said but at times hanging her head down

Do you ever see white tears?
Are you positive she is grinding her teeth down?

I've had my share of major odontoma cases and catching these symptoms early enough could save their lives IF this is what's going on...

My squirrel has her own room the dog is not allowed in there so I’m wondering if I could have carried it to her from the dog if that’s what it is. If it can be transported from animal to human to squirrel

Squirrel is only 6-7 months old. Have you seen odontoma THAT young?

I’m not sure if it could be transmitted that way, but I suppose it’s possible. Hanging the head down is a sign of not feeling well.

The SMZ is an acceptable choice. Please post the strength of the drug, whether liquid or pill and the weight of your squirrel. Someone on here can help you dose it.

Her front teeth look good. Have not looked inside yet

Just wanted to give everyone an update on my little girl “Squrt”
I gave her the SMZ as i was told in private message. Since, she has seemed to take a turn for good. She is eating now and has started being more alert and not hanging her head down sad like before. Th sneezing is no where near as frequent. She still rest a lot but to me there is a huge difference !
