Default NEED HOME FOR BABY SQUIRREL

    Hi everyone.

I've posted before but didn't have much luck. I found a baby at 6 weeks old, in late September. She had suffered some nerve damage from the fall of a termite rotten tree. As time passed, she has recovered very well! But she cannot climb or jump as well as a normal squirrel. She is non-releasable. I really need to find her a home, as I travel for work and it is getting to be way too much to handle. I have another boy that I saved at the same time, and am working on his release after the winter. She is the sweetest little thing, and I really want her to have a good home and family that will love her. Or if anyone knows of a zoo, or facility where they take little ones like her. Any leads would be much appreciated right now. She loves her brother, and I know what social creatures they are, I really want her to have another friend around. If anyone can help me with any information, I would be so grateful. I can drive her anywhere in the country, I have no problem with that.

    Thank you so much <3

I wish I could help but no room at the inn as they say 🙄
I dont know if a zoo or anything like that would take them in, most likely put them down 😪

I hope someone here has room or knows of a rehabber that could help

A member posted back in December about being able to provide a forever home for a squirrel. She’s in NE Georgia. Please see link https://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/...54#post1326354 Post #16. You might contact her and see if she would be willing to take your little one.

Best of luck and please keep us updated.

Can you tell us more about this baby, I'm assuming she's around 5 months or a bit more?
What is the cage size she's used to, does she get out of cage time?
Is she friendly, can she be eaisily handled?
Reading how she came to you after a fall, how are her teeth, are they growing properly?
Can you post a picture and maybe a short video.

    Nikki,

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier.
I have room, and currently have three NR Neuro female squirrels she can share with (Noelle, Nugget, and Nancy). I rehab 50 to 100 babies per season.
Depending on temperament I let them snuggle baby squirrels after they have reached sexual maturity. I have found that NR neuro females tend to be best for this, as they are calmer, and more careful and gentle.
I am located in Cumming, GA, on Lake Sidney Lanier, about 25 minutes north of Atlanta off highway 400.
If you have still been unable to find a forever home let me know. I have sent you my phone number in a private message (upper right corner under Notifications).

She is just around 5.5 months old, I believe!
She is not used to a cage, they have access to the entire basement right now. It's been going fine so far, they love it, they have an obstacle course they do starting at 7:30 am. It's very cute, and he actually bit through the bottom of the cage, the plastic tray...
She can be very easily handled. She's a sweetheart. Not much of a cuddler, she will try to run when you pick her up. But compared to him, she's a piece of cake.
Her teeth are great! They have tons to chew on.

I will try to get those pics/videos to you!!
