Default Injured Squirrel not eating or drinking.

Hello. I have an injured squirrel who is not eating or drinking. It was looked at by a licensed rehabber yesterday and she gave me some gooey food but he has not touched it or his water. Anything I can make for syringe feeding? It is an adolescent. Not a baby

You can try formula (Esbilac or Fox Valley). Almond or vanilla flavored ensure.

I would offer Avocado as well since this is well received..

    Hydration is critical:
    Homemade hydration fluid:

    • 1 cup warm water
    • 1 tablespoon honey, molasses, syrup, or sugar
    • 1 pinch salt

You can try putting a bit of honey on the syringe tip to get him interested.

Edit: Is this a wild that was found with an injury or a squirrel that has been under your care for some time now?
