Can anyone share the correct method for CPR on a squirrel? I've read of people saving squirrels with CPR, but never seen it done. What are the rules, etc.? Thank you.

I do not know the proper answer to this, but if you google "squirrel CPR", you will see a list of YouTube videos showing people giving CPR to an electrocuted squirrel and a drowned squirrel. Just FYI.

Check airway for obstruction. If airway is clear, place your mouth over their mouth and nose. Give 2 tiny puffs. Lightly rub squirrels chest area for a bit. Repeat if necessary. When they come back lightly stroke their back from head to tail.

When I had to give CPR to one my rehab squirrels years ago after it aspirated formula being fed by someone else and its heart stopped I put the baby on its back, head lower than its body, and did chest compressions a little faster than you would on a human baby as squirrels have fast resting heart rates and it was successful.

Wonderful!!
I have done this twice for very young pinkies, both successfully. You must be really gentle, though, and not bruise them in your effort to save them.![]()
