Default 7 week old Squirrel losing hair. With pics

Hey everyone! New here. I have a 12 week old squirrel. Starting to lose patches of his hair. So he has a cage at home. I have a bunch of zebra finches to in the same room. He goes out everyday. Bathe him once a week and wondering is it bird mites or molting? Or is it too early to molt?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

He needs treatment for mites, he wouldn't be molting there this time of year. Too cold.
(Do not put over the counter or unproven to be safe flea, tick or mite medications on a squirrel)
I highly recommend Revolution, it has a broader coverage against the different types of mites.
Revolution is Rx, if you cannot obtain without a script it can be purchased through Joe's pet meds.
Ivermectin dosed properly can be another option.
