oak tree branches

I want to offer my flyer an oak tree branch with leaves on it out of the yard. I noticed possible evidence of tiny bugs. I know in the wild that would not be an issue, but I don't want her to get red bugs, chiggers...etc. Has anyone had any problems giving branches??

You could bake it in the oven at low temps for 5-10 minutes, say 150. That should kill the bugs. Might have to remove the leaves for safe baking. A leaf might ignite if it fell off.
