    Unhappy Ready for release?

    https://vimeo.com/472992784?ref=tw-share

My little boy just recently started doing this (link to video above) (please pardon the bit of mess in the cage, I haven’t gotten around to cleaning it for the day) and I’m wondering if he’s wanting release or maybe just new toys? I’ve been considering a large wheel for him, as maybe he has extra energy to get out but I tried giving him a walnut piece to get him to stop this and he continued to go back anyways. He has free roam of the room and his cage is open all the time besides when he’s sleeping. He’s also allowed in other parts of the house, but today he just didn’t want to go out. Any ideas guys?

Your link is no good it opens to home improvement, not squirrel.
    How old is your squirrel?

Dang it. https://bit.ly/35GrlPF This should hopefully work. I’m not too keen on video uploading. He’s about 3 months old now.

    Talking Re: Ready for release?

Update: I browsed deep into the threads on here and read about one person who had the same trouble with a girl and she was advised to change the cage positioning. I kid you not he stopped immediately as soon as I rearranged his room and my happy little bundle of love is back!! He is getting a wheel soon though

Is his cage on the floor?

They prefer to sleep at a location with some height, makes them feel more secure. My squirrel has never chosen to make a nest anywhere close to the ground.

He has a critter nation for his cage (2 stories that are around 16” above ground) and he also has a couple nests in his cat tree now as well. He also has never tried to make ground; he loves he be as high as possible at all times.
