Default urgent care needed - spine injury

    Hello everyone,

I have a 10 week rescue who accidentally squished squeezed himself in a tight spot. He has lost function of his lower legs/tail and looks very weak.
Still breathing for now and resting in my arms.
No anti-inflammatory meds in the cabinet except some children ibuprofen.
    Thanks,
    Alex

Start calling friends, neighbors, relatives - see if you can get your hands on some prednisone or prednisolone. Humans use it all the time for a variety of ills.

Thanks for the reply. It might be a few days before I can get my hands on some. What should I do in the meantime? Children Motrin/Ibuprofin?Thanks,
    Alex

He can have that. If you need dosing assistance we will need his weight - and we will need it when you get the prednisone too.

NOTE: He needs to be off ibuprophen for 24 hours before he starts the prednisone - you don't want them taking those two together.

I appreciate the help! He weighs 357g.
So far no luck with the prednisone. I'll keep searching. I have in my cabinet a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory cream/gel - Diclofenac. Can I use it?

Dosing sent. Anti-inflammatory gels are more for rashes and things. They won't affect anything internal like he has. I would not use it.
