    Default Bot fly info

Here is interesting info on Bots.

    https://capcvet.org/guidelines/cuterebriasis/

    Interesting excerpt..

    Control and Prevention

Cats and dogs with access to outdoor areas where infected rodents and rabbits are present are at risk.

No products are labeled for control of Cuterebra spp. However, topical insecticides, such as fipronil and imidacloprid, may provide some protection from infestation. Similarly, administering systemic macrocyclic lactones may kill larvae during migration.

Anybody know where topical insecticides would be applied? The article is talking about cats and dogs mostly so maybe applying onto their body? Probably be hard to apply to squirrels.

And what about the macrocyclic lactones? What are they and how would they be administered?

Well two of them are very familiar to us - ivermectin and selectamin (Revolution). HRT4SQRLS has had good luck with Revolution I believe.
