Found a nest in the street with 3 newborns, need help

After the heavy winds today we came across a nest that was smashed to pieces in the road.There is three newborn grey squirrels, we waited to see if momma came and to look for them and never did. Since its dark and we have plenty of wildlife that would snatch them up, we moved them gently to a box with some of the nesting material. Not looking to raise them, just trying to help them. Anyone here a wildlife rehaber. We are near Plymouth, Ma. They look healthy and squirming around, looking for a heating pad for them, tried a dropper with a little water, non were interesetd. What do we need to do to get them through the night? TIA.

In the morning after sun-up you can once again try to re-unite, that is the BEST possible outcome. Mom will have a back-up nest, if she is still able she will come for her babies. Playing a audio of baby squirrel crying helps sometimes to bring mom.

Thank you Spanky for all the great info. We have found a rehab specialist that will has nursed many babies in the past couple of years and has successfully reintegrated them. We are going to try to reunite them tommorow in the am and see if mom will come take them back. They are pretty loud when they make noise for such small creatures.
