What watage should my uvb light for squirrel be?
That isn't really the right question. The UVB reptile lights, which is what you should be looking at, are available as both the compact fluorescents - the twisty ones, and as fluorescent tubes of various lengths. The bulbs are actually coated with something that is activated by the light and the heat of the bulbs and THAT is what causes the UVB wavlength. The wattage is more about the size of the bulb. A little more wattage with the compact twisty ones will provide more light but not necessarily more UVB since they are fairly close in size. I would buy the smaller one and if I wanted more light on the cage I would use a lamp with just a normal bulb in it to make the area brighter.
The long tube fluorescents will give you the best bang for the buck because the UVB is emitted along the whole length of the tube and so covers more area.
Hope that helps.
