Default Baby flyer found, eye pecked by a chicken

In my yard I saw my chickens looking at something in the grass weird and even starting to peck at said thing. I go over to see whats up, and soon discover a baby flying squirrel. Its eyes are still closed and it barely has a tiny bit of fuzz on the top of its head and some whiskers. Its eye had a teeny bit of blood and a scratch on the lid. I'm wondering what the chances will be that it is going to blind in the eye when its finally old enough to open its eyes. and if it is, would it still be able to glide properly with one blind eye? I don't even know how old the baby could be, but the eye injury has been healing well and it wasn't that bad in the first place.

Could you post a pic of the baby . Do u have a scale weighing in grams?

You'll need weight in grams for anti optics doseing when a rehabber, admin or experienced person with antibiotics doseing can find out what you have on hand and how much to give

So to make it easier on them get the list of antibiotics u have on hand amd weight in grams.

You will be looking for ciprofloxacin, possibly amoxicave , baytril, and or doxycycline.

Other back ground info is helpful like what are u feeding it?..

Flyers are different than other squirrels but definately no puppy esbilac.

What time did you find it amd have you hydrated it first.

Heres a recipie for hydration fluid that makes a quart. U can freeze it

    1 quart water
    3 tablespoons sugar
    1 teaspoon of salt.

Theres is so a temporary goat milk formula. Not pasteurized and not can I believe. I get mine from a whole foods store

    Recipie

    3 tablespoon goat milk
3 tablespoons of stony fields or yobaby yogurt( i know those r safe for it)
2 tablespoon of heavy wipping cream
Half of an egg yolk, no white part

*make sure u do not get anything diet like. Amy saccharine or xylotaune will kill it.

When I am done posting I'll try to give your post a ' bump to make it new"

Still learning how to navigate the board

    Sincerely
    Maty
