Need to go out for 5 hours.

Hi all

Tomorrow I need to go out for 5 hours to help my nan. What do you all do if you should be feeding every 2 hours? I could take them with me but the car journey will surely distress them? Or do I just feed before I go and as soon as I get back?

How old are these babies / how much do they weigh?

Are you currently feeding every 2 hours around the clock?

No problem. They are newborn so approximately a week old.

The smallest girl is 16grams and the boy who is the largest is 22grams.

Yes I'm feeding every 2 hours at the moment.

If you have a portable cage you can set up for them they would probably be fine to go with you. You could feed them just before you leave, then 2-2 1/2 hours later then when you get back.

what Re you feeding and how much per feeding? Two hours is pretty frequent at any age.

Or should I say I try to. The smallest girl has only just managed 0.5ml.

Absolutely you need to bring bitty babies like that with you on your trip, along with a way to keep them warm. I have twice now brought babies up to the age of 6 weeks to work with me every day and they are great travelers at that age. Once they curl up and go to sleep, nothing much wakes them until they get hungry again!

Thank you. I took them with me and they were fine. My new worry is that they haven't fed since 3:30pm and its 11:30pm now. I've tried but they don't want to feed. They fed at 2:30am, 5:30am, 9am, 12:30pm, 3:30pm and nothing since. They keep turning their face away. Should I be worried? They're weeing and pooing ok.
