Our cat got a chipmunk unfortunately when it got too close to her enclosure.
She had it by it's midsection. And it's dragging it's back legs. It has a ton of energy. It's I fair size tote now with coconut husk substrate and a small cardboard box I originally out it in. It's been attempting to climb the cardboard so has a fair amount of energy still.
I put a very small bowl of water in the tote so it couldn't hurt it self.
We are going to call a vet and try and find someone local to help in the morning. But we are willing to put in the work to help him rehab or to keep him if need be if he/she can't fully recover.
What things can't we do to help him along best?
I read in another thread that perhaps Pedialyte was better than water?
I'm also worried that she may have damaged his spine. Is it possible that she could have damaged his vision because he doesn't seem to react in fear when my hand get super close to his face.
But then again they weren't very afraid of us in the first place which is probably what led to the attack in the first place.
Thanks for any advice. I'll try and get some photos in the AM as I'm sure people would love to see them.
