Default I have a 6 week old grey squirrel.

    Hello, im new to this.
I recently found a 2 week old squirrel and she's currently 6 weeks old.
I ordered some squirrel blocks for the squirrel to start chewing but it wont be here until sunday afternoon.
Is it okay if i start giving her some cauliflower today? Or should i wait?

It’s probably best to wait. You really want the squirrel block to be their first food and for them to eat it well before moving on to other offerings.

What kind of formula are you feeding, and how much at each feeding?
For now, formula should be her only food source.
If she were still with mom, she would not be eating anything other
    than mom's milk.
    How much does she weigh?
Can you post a photo? We love pictures.

Before i found this site, i purchased Esbiliac. I feed her half of 15 mL. She looks underweight to me and im not sure how i can get her to gain weight. Also, the tip of her tail doesnt have hair at all. Is that normal?Name: 1591240253640-19329291.jpg

Yes, that squirrel looks underweight to me, too. She will need to be on formula for another 6 weeks or more so you should order the correct formula. Order some Fox Valley 20/50. You can also order a product that Fox Valley sells called Ultraboost. It’s a high calorie powder that you can substitute in place of 25% of the powdered formula. These items can be ordered from Henrys Pets. There’s a flat $5.99 shipping charge so you should also get her her first rodent block and syringes and Miracle nipples if you need them. What rodent blocks did you get her already? I have had good luck with the Picky blocks and the Hazelnut blocks.

What does she weigh? It’s imperative to have a gram scale and weigh her every morning so her formula intake per feeding can be adjusted. Typically they eat 5-7% of their weight at each feeding. I hope you aren’t using a l5ml syringe to feed her. I say this because you mentioned she eats half of 15ml. That size syringe is much too large. The volume that comes out of the hole is too much for a little one like her. I never use anything more than a 3ml syringe for feeding.

I got her the high protein blocks from Henry's.
The order came in last night. I have the nipples from the Petag bottle. I put it on this syringe but the milk was coming it in large portions so we started using a bottle and it was slightly better. I bought another syringe but the nipples just wont stay on. In other words, I've been using the Petag bottle rather than syringes due to the large size and the nipples wont fit. I'll post pictures of the syringes. Anywho, should i order the ultraboost or the formal and what kind of syringes should i buy? Also, thank you so much for getting back to me. I've been really concerned for her health and i didnt know what to do.

Bottles are never recommended, it’s impossible to control the flow. Yes, the syringes are too big. Have you held your baby up to your ear like a phone and listened for any clicking in her lungs when she breathes? Clicking would be a sign of aspiration pneumonia and requires an antibiotic. If you don’t hear anything like that then that’s good.

Until you can get the proper feeding things, use the syringes without the nipple.

You can order the Fox Valley 20/50, the Ultraboost and all proper feeding equipment from Henrys: https://www.henryspets.com/

Yup. Normally I would suggest 1ml syringes but everyone is out! This baby is big enough for a 3ml though. https://www.henryspets.com/miracle-s...ring-syringes/

    Get the 10 pack.

OK, nipples - buy a couple kinds. I like these for little babies like yours - they are inexpensive but easy and the animals like them: https://www.henryspets.com/silicone-...-baby-animals/ Get a packet of 10. When the baby gets older they will start chewing these to pieces - they get pretty "enthusiastic" and the nipples come away from a feeding session looking like they went into the garbage disposal. Then you want these - they are pricier: https://www.henryspets.com/miracle-nipples-2/ Get wither the original size or the mini. I like the shorter nipple (the mini) myself but either is fine.

The formula that is being described is this: https://www.henryspets.com/fox-valle...aby-squirrels/ If you want to get the Ultraboost it is here: https://www.henryspets.com/fox-valle...r-weight-gain/

For proper feeding amounts you should be able to weigh her. Get an inexpensive digital scale - places like Bed Bath and Beyond and Walmart/Target type have them in their cookware areas since they are used for dieting. They toggle between grams/kg and ounces/lbs - you will be using gram weight. Can you get us a weight on her?

I just bought the miracle nipple, the original size. I also bought the formula and the ultraboost and a 3mL syringe. I hope that's okay.
