Squirrel acting crazy refuse to sleep.

hi all,

I had my squirrel for over a year now but yesterday she started acting up. she starting biting me until i bled and refuse to let me touch her. took me awhile but i caught her and put her back into her cage but she stayed up all night on a branch and refused to sleep. i could tell she was sleepy and falling asleep but she still refused to sleep. can someone explain her behaviour? appreciate it, thanks.

It sounds like she has hit puberty, is wilding up, and is fighting containment.
Try distracting her by giving her a lot of materials to make a nest with, like tissues and toilet paper.
Also give her a bunch of new things in her cage like pine cones, bamboo, leaves, and dirt.
