    Default Tail injured

I am not sure how she injured her tail but I posted a few months ago and it had a lump on the last 1/4 of her tail and now it is barely hanging there and she has no control of that part of her tail. Will it just fall off on its own, she doesn’t seem to be bothered by it. I have racked my brain trying to figure out how it happened. I am always watching her if she is out and at night she goes in her cage.

Yes, she will lose that part of her tail. Because it is no longer viable due to lack of blood circulation, it becomes numb and normally they will chew it off. Her cage is likely the culprit - there are often pinch points in cage bars where there are places that the bars are close enough together in certain spots, normally the corners where the sides meet, that the tail can slide into and not slide out easily. It feels like "something" has grabbed their tail and they will yank it and do this damage. She will be okay, just with a shorter tail.

The bone drys up, the injuried section falls off.
Unless infection becomes involved antibiotics are never necessary with this type injury.

Just an update, her hair is growing back on her tail and with the hair growth it is only a little shorter than before. There is a knot at the end of her tail and it does seem to still be a little tender if I touch it.
