It could be a UTI. I see you’re located in Florida. I am also in FL just south of Cocoa Beach on the east coast. If I’m close to you I’d be happy to help with antibiotics if they’re needed. Also, we have one of the best squirrel vets in the country located in Port Orange, FL if you need vet assistance.

Absolutely. Let’s see what the other folks on here think about treating your girl. The meds I have on hand are: Clavamox 250mg, Baytril 22.7mg, Clindamycin 150mg and Doxycycline 100mg (exp. 9/20). If medication is required we will need a weight on your girl.

I would go for, in order, Baytril and then Clavamox.

Also, Linda, if you have any Cipro in the house, you can begin treating now - it is the human version (MORE OR LESS) of Baytril. If you have ever had a urinary tract infection, it is nearly certain that you were prescribed Cipro for it.

Regardless of what you get, we will need the weight of your squirrel and YOU will need a 1cc syringe. If you don't have one perhaps Mel1959 can throw one in??

Yup. Lets hope she has Cipro and both of you can stay home. Is your Baytril pill or suspension?

I can help with dosing but I wanted to throw out a possibility. Is it possible she is in heat? They do the straining/squatting thing when in heat. Of course, treating might be safer than assuming she is in heat.

I have not heard from her. I didn’t send a pm with my phone number or anything so I don’t have a way to contact her.

Waiting to hear back from HRT4SQRLS about your other med choices to see what she recommends.
