My son's 3.5 yr. gray has a red lump that looks infected at one side of her genital area. What could it be, and what could we do about it?

Does she spend any time outdoors? This looks like a bot fly warble.

The cage bar is making it a little difficult. Is the swollen area the vagina or the anus? It appears the lump is directly adjacent. ?

Is the pink med a liquid? Does the name "Sulfatrim" sound familiar?
It does NOT need to be animal antibiotics. Many human antibiotics can be used on animals and there are people here who can tell you how to properly dilute it and dose your squirrel.

That’s a good antibiotic for infections. We need a weight on the squirrel preferably in grams but we can convert if needed.

thanks. It is an antibiotic that was prescribed for her when she had a UTI, so it has the dosage on the bottle. However, it is almost impossible to get her to take that much. You can fool her with peanut butter or ice cream just once, and then she is wise to it.
It was a boil, and it broke yesterday, so that is good. Just hoping that she'll take enough antibiotic to take care of the infection. I am so surprised that she completely ignored it-- no licking or anything, unlike dogs and cats that are constantly working a wound.

There is a homeopathic remedy, a sulfur compound known as, "Gun Powder". I gave this on nuts to a yard squirrel that had what looked like a puncture wound that was lame, likely from a bit, and it did help. Also this was given via on the nuts to another yard squirrel with an abscess that caused it to open up and drain. If there is nothing left inside the abscessed area now opened, then it likely heal well; if not it will reoccur till the body has expelled the physical irritant that caused the abscess. If a abscessed tooth that can be a more serious issue.
