My squirrel is vomiting after drinking water

Can you tell us your buddy's backstory?

How old is he? What diet is he on? How long have you had him?

If you can get a weight with a kitchen scale etc. it may help with medicine dosing if needed.

If he is young, I would guess dehydration may be the first problem to beware of.

Also, any pics may help with diagnosis.

Is it ONLY water or is he vomiting every time he ingests anything?

His name is rocky and he is about 1 and 1/2 he eats nuts, corn, cherry tomatoes, and some other vegetables. Here vus kind of picky. It just happened lay night a few times. We think he got ahold of a chocolate covered almond.

Maybe that's all that is wrong and it will work itself out.

Have you had Rocky all his life?

Do you feed him rodent blocks etc. like Henry's?

Sorry for all the questions but really a little more info might help.

If your list is complete, Rocky is in great danger of metabolic bone disease and it is also very possible that what you saw yesterday is linked. It can be fixed. Please list his entire diet.

I would rate this as "hair on fire" important.

He hasn't vomited since that night. We got him when he first got hair. Hopefully it was something he ate. Thank you for the help

He will not eat the henrys blocks. He eats pistacios,corn, sugar peas, pecans, acorns, brussell sprouts,

If he wont eat Henrys blocks or is not eating any other rodent block, then you need to implement “tough love”. Captive squirrels HAVE to eat some type of rodent block. Since he appears to be picky I would offer him the Henrys picky eater or hazelnut blocks, veggies that don’t include corn or sweet potatoes, etc. and not give in until he began to eat the blocks. You should remove all nuts from his diet until he is eating the Henrys block well. He will not starve himself. This is the tough love part that you have to stay strong through. Captive squirrels that are on a diet that you listed are doomed for metabolic bone disease and an early death. I know you want the best for him so you have to stay strong about his diet change.
