Sending many prayers for sweet Baby and her mama.

Exchange sweet potatoes and yams for baked Butternut and/or Acorn squash, as these winter squashes have a good balance of (Ca:P),
unlike cultivated tubers which are very high in sugars and phosphorus.
To Plain Low fat organic yogurt add one drop of (0.5 %) alcohol, lowest level to improved flavor. Creamy lowfat Stonyfield lowest in lower in sugars than most brands; lower sugars are better for the kidneys and bones.
You can even add a drop of the vanilla extract to the squash.

Increase in water by adding it to yogurt to support accepting it; use purified water to avoid chlorine and best supports the kidneys.
Reduce acidity by reducing the amount of grains, seeds and nuts. Pumpkin seed hulled, even so high in phosphorus ratio, is low in content by comparison to nuts; this can be added with a few seeds daily to support urinary tract health as this also supports the liver that has a greater load to filter with reduced kidney function.
Pycnogenol by Healthy Origins 30 mg. source has the least amount of additives.
Increasing the maintenance dose for PYC is fine to do. Include 1/8 portion to 1/4 portion of powder capsule contents daily.
Split feed AM and PM by using 1/16 portion 1/8 portion of the capsule contents (not teaspoon measures)
Pycnogenol has an analgesic effect that is good on the kidneys; unlike NSAIDS that are contraindicated for kidney disease,
PYC doesn't have the side effects NSAIDS have.
PYC also lowers blood pressure that increases with metabolic syndrome from Kidney function reduction.
This takes stress off the kidneys, heart and all the vital organs, by promoting better circulation, and reducing inflammation.
Thought to add:
A lower oxalate diet will best support the kidneys with metabolic syndrome. Calcium citrate preserves calcium and so inhibits kidney stone forming with metabolic syndrome, because it isn't lost to bonding with oxalic acid as Calcium carbonate that forms into the insoluble form of Calcium oxalate, that is the forms that promotes kidney stones in metabolic syndrome. This is why it is so vital to support a lower oxalate diet with this condition. The good news about the shelled or hulless pumpkin seeds that are even better, is that pumpkin seeds are low in oxalates, the one source though higher in phosphorus by low measure adds little phosphorus to the diet, but is a good source of fat more than protein that supports kidney health.
In metabolic acidosis this is what helps the kidneys as this lowers the absorption of phosphorus into the bloodstream. This much like a teeter totter, when the calcium is higher more calcium is absorbed lowering phosphorus absorption as a result. It isn't then just a matter of it being more, but that a higher ratio reduces even the lower amount of phosphorus even more.
Even at (3:1) (Ca:P) the bones of normal adult female rats were found to have greater bone density. I checked what the study in kidney damaged used for PYC in rat, it was closer to 10 mg. so use the 1/4 portion of capsule (not teaspoon measure) adding 1/8 Tsp. twice daily to each of two meals in the squash. If your squirrel refused to eat it that way, you can add it to the yogurt with water allowing it to soften before giving it just as you would meds in drops onto the tongue slowly.
Prayers for Sweeper and precious Baby.

Sending prayers for Baby and Sweeper.
SammysMom (01-19-2020)
I got this message from Sweeper today. She has been on a real rollercoaster with Baby, but may have figured it out. Baby needs prayers for strength enough for surgery. Sweeper started her back on clavamox last night since it was what helped the last time.
When we spoke last night I told her how much love she is being sent from TSB. She said she feels it and is reflecting it back to all of us.
These are pics of Baby from the last couple of days as well as the message that Sweeper sent this morning.
HOPE is alive and well!
