    Default Crying and Spasms

    Hi,
My 10 y/o grey, Skamper, is blind and seemed to be doing just fine until about 2 hours ago. He only has 1 of his eyes open and is running from one place to another about every 10 minutes. He will then sit with his tail bushed over his back and lower his head and jerk and make kind of a whine or grunting sound. He doesn't let me touch him. I feel like he must have fallen and hit his right eye on something or scraped it on something. He doesn't have any problems moving around.

He seems to be in a lot of pain. What can I do? Please help.

    Thanks, Betsy

He is sitting hunched over? Might it be a stomach issue? What has he eaten today and can he get to anything bad?

He can have infant ibuprophen for pain. It is a flavored liquid available at any drug store. An estimate or even better exact weight on him is needed to dose it properly.

He is hunched over. I don't think he would hove eaten anything bad unless he dug up a nut in his outdoor enclosure. But he refuses to open that one eye. He last weighed a 1-1/4 pounds at the vets office. How do I give him the baby Tylenol? And if it is a stomach virus what can I do?

    Thank you!!

Not tylenol! Motrin aka infant ibuprofen.

I went and got children's Motrin for ages 6 mo. to 2 years.

How much to give for 1 and 1/4 pounds?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Dosing sent by PM. This is INFANT ibuprophen, not Childrens by the way. It is actually what we wanted you to get.

I wish I could. I can take pictures but I can't get them to send anywhere except text with attachment. My phone has a low IQ for a smart phone. Or maybe I do.

Has he pooped, or peed today? Can you feel around his little anus and lower belly if you feel any lump there?

Is he well hydrated? It's important that he stays well hydrated.

So far he has drank water but he isn't going for any food. I saw him cleaning his lower front so I think he is peeing OK. I haven't noticed any poop. I will pay special attention. Thank you.

I din't think Scamper's mom would mind - vet saw baby and did xrays, had a bulging disc in the neck. He is on a 2 week treatment with pred - doc felt he would recover well.
