What should I do? I’ve seen a video on here with a squirrel with AP and it’s exactly how my little guy sounds. I don’t have any antibiotics and I’ve tried contacting a rehab center but haven’t gotten a response.

How old is your little one? When you hold him up to your ear like a phone do you hear a clicking noise with each breath? Did your little guy snort milk while feeding? If so, how long ago?
I’m about an hour east of you (south of Cocoa Beach) and I have meds if you need them. We can arrange to meet tomorrow if needed.
I will send you my phone number in a private message. Private messages are accessed at the top of the page under “notifications”, if it doesn’t automatically pop up.
Edit: sorry I see you say 3 weeks. I sent you my number in a private message. We can meet tonight if he’s been clicking for awhile. They can go downhill fast with AP.

For now call family and friends and see if they have Baytril (animal ab) or Cipro (Human ab)
or Augmentin (Human) or Clavamox (Animal)
All you will need is one pill and we can dose it for you if you have a weight on this little one.
Thank you again Mel for always being there and offering your help.

Couple more questions.
What formula are you feeding, and what size syringe are you using?
Is this a grey squirrel or a flyer?
Start asking friends neighbors and family. You only need 1 pill. The best antibiotics are Clavamox/augmentin or Baytril/Cipro. There are other meds that can be used. If you get something ask us if it would work. In order to dose, we need the strength of the med and weight of your baby.

We believe he’s only 3 weeks; we’re also only just guesstimating based on some research we did, and he also still has his eyes shut. We just found them (there were 2 but the other one is doing great) last night so we went out and got pedialyte to hydrate them because they’re dehydrated. I think what we did wrong was used too big of a syringe. and yes he’s making a clicking sound with every breath, i can hear it a lot more when he’s sleeping. and no, but when we tried to get him to drink the pedialyte (this time drop by drop) he would kind of drink it, but there were little bubbles by his mouth.
You need to get this med tonight. AP is very deadly but extremely treatable if done in time.

Thank you for all the replies! I’m going to meet up with Mel1959 and she’s going to provide the medicine for me. She’s providing clavamox 62.5 mg and the little one weighs 71 grams. What would be the dosage I need to give him?

We need dosing for this little guy.
I have a dosing syringe, feeding syringes, nipples and FV 20/50 for her to start him on.

Thank you, guys. I’ve only done what I would hope anyone would do.
I’ve been in touch with Julie and its a little girl with AP. She’s still not eating well, but I have told her to continue trying, drop by drop. Also to give some sweetened water to keep her hydrated while on the medicine. She says the clicking is a little less noticeable today so I’m hopeful that once she starts feeling better she’ll have more interest in eating.
The boy is doing well and actually ate 5% of his weight this morning.
Julie is doing a great job and is very receptive to all advice I’ve given. She’s committed to helping these guys and I’m committed to helping her however I can.

Thank you for the update.
Prayers being sent that this little girl will be feeling better soon.
Mel, you really are a saint and you are always willing to help, even if it means
opening your home to members and their squirrels so they can be closer
to Dr. E.
You are one amazing woman!
Thank you!

Do they have names?
And pics are always appreciated...when you have time of course.
Thanks again for helping this special little one and her brother.

Thank you for the pic.
Aren't they precious when they're so small and vulnerable?
