So I’m hiding in the bathroom as speak/type absolutely embarrassed beyond words...
We do Homechurch ; have about 40 folks here ; we are just finishing up our fellowship meal. I had an after hours emergency call just as my boo ball:bars came out of the oven. So I set them on the counter and we went tearing into to clinic. Got back with less than 45 min to shower and finish cleaning. When I came out service had already started . Then the meal. So just now a kind gentleman just complimented me on my “brownies”; said “These are very good Marie! What’s in them??”
I looked at the half eaten pan... No telling how many others have sampled them??Look at the crumbs!! Grabbed them, and ran to the bedroom in horror! I don’t know if I should laugh or puke!! I think I will just hide and pretend I’m sick. Yes. It’s true , got a flipped stomach ; that’s no lie !!

Thanks for the laugh. Uhm... what IS in them or should I ask?
I know many have used Fox Valley in their coffee but this is much better. To company no less.

No doubt you will get requests for the recipe.

    Hilarious ! !

YUMMY ! ! Good thing I wasn't there.......... I LOVE Boo Balls, always licking my fingers
after I make little balls for the kiddies here.

But, don't know that I would share with my church friends, but you did get a compliment....

I can just see you hiding in your bedroom !

    What a riot ! ! !

The last family just left so coast is clear to put them in the FREEZER!!

I use organic everything ( coconut oil, pecans, applesauce....) but the Fox Valley formula for SQUIRRELS and the Oxbow Regal RAT portions on the ingredient list would not be easy to explain to these folks!!!!

Wow... Gonna go hang out in the barn and clean stalls /clear my head lol. Jon is flabbergasted; this is the second time ... First was a teen/ buddy of my son’s... But this was a church Dad! And as evidenced by the pan...many others!!!!

When I went to tell my hubby what happened, I couldn't stop laughing long enough at first to do so.

When I was finally able to get it out, we both couldn't stop laughing for 5 min.
Then my hubby asked, "What did they wash them down with?"

I could just see your hubby walking in with a tray at your next gathering, saying,

'Anyone like some of those yummy Rat food cookies we had out last week; we still have some left over!'.

The only thing that would top it, would be if someone asked for the recipe!

Was it the Oxbow Essentials for rats, or their Regal Rat diet?

. Oh Marie! I know you are horrified, but for half a pan to be gone they must taste pretty good! No wonder your squees like them! My mom used to say “you eat a peck of dirt before you die” in a very nonchalant way whenever food dropped on the ground, but I question if the same saying applies to rat block! This is definitely one for the books!! LMAO!

Maybe a little Fox Valley formula to wash it down with?!

Absolutely hilarious!! Marie I would have died on the spot.....but it's all good!!! As DF said, let's just pray to the good Lord that nobody asks for the recipe -- you'd have to leave out the rat block and Fox Valley, and then people would be saying theirs didn't turn out right

Don’t all good cooks leave out an ingredient when passing on a recipe?

I know how those church potluck dinners are. They eat everything except Sis. Neverwashahand’s casserole or Sis. Houselikeapigpen’s potato salad.
I guess you’re not know as Sis. Squirrelseverywhere.
My goodness, you must be a great cook if they even eat your squirrel block.

The first thing my wife said when I told her about this was... "We need to get that recipe".

Haaaahahaha! We have a friend who is narcoleptic (sp?). He eats a very specific vegetarian diet that controls his narcolepsy—NO sugar. I made a pan of blocks. Cut em up, covered them with a dish towel, and left them on the counter to cool. When I walked back into the kitchen, friend was eyeing my blocks. I told him they were SQUIRREL BLOCKS! He Asked “what’s in them?” I told him pecans, whey protein, vitamins, an egg—good stuff. I went one way, he went another and when I got back he was happily munching on my blocks! I told him I made them for my squirrels—NOT PEOPLE. He continued to munch. I had to shoo him out of the kitchen and make him put two handfuls of my blocks back on the counter. After that I caught him more than once in the freezer looking for blocks. He’s a nice enough guy but GET OUT OF MY SQUIRREL BLOCKS! I’m not all that fond of nuts so they have no appeal for me but apparently they taste pretty good—specially with a dash of vanilla extract.
