    Default 6 year old Moby

    HELLO FAMILY-

I need some advise and insight please- About 1.5 months ago my boy started losing hair at the end of his tail, he had a wound from something not sure what but I think he got his tail stuck and hurt him self, fast forward now his tail is full bushy again but at the tip of the tail instead of it being straight and narrow it feels like a tiny ball!!!!!

Now to the second issue which I posted about in another section for nutrition but now I think it maybe something else! About a month ago he started sleeping a lot, I mean 95% of the day he is sleeping- Please keep in mind he is free at the house, he is never caged unless I have to leave a few hours her or there, otherwsie he is free since I work from home 90% of the time- He has a critternation cage double- he has plenty of toys and wood and branches, I bring the branches every other day or so they are not old- I play with him any chance he is up even if I am working

I dont have a vet nearby so I rely on my TSB family to help me with these things

Do you think he might be sleeping more because it’s winter? It’s just a thought. We had a few cold days here and the wilds just disappeared. Everyone was hunkered down in their nests.

    Anything different with his diet?

I wouldn’t worry about the tail. Unusual things happen when they injure the tip of the tail. One of mine lost an inch or so of tail and the hair grew back like a fork on the end... and it was black hair. Very cute tail.

    Hi RamiS,

Tell us about the 5% of the time he is active. Does he run at all? Does he seem like he hurts anywhere? How is his urine? Most importantly, Is he eating a proper diet?

Taking in account that it is winter, 95% seems like a lot of down time. What was he like at this time last year?

95% of the day sleeping seems like a lot. When he is out does he scamper about and act normal? Feisty etc.?

Any recent up close pics or better yet video when he's out?

Hi everyone- Thank you all for your responds

not sure what "Scampers" is But the 5% of the time he is out he sits besides the window thats cracked open a little for him always- then he comes to the ground and we play with his toys until he gets board and starts walking around or jumping around then back to his box he goes, as for the diet we are now on the Picky henry blocks instead of the hazelnut ones, sometimes throughout the day he will get a thin slice of avocado, green beas (sugar snaps) and a fresh hazelnut or pecan halve.

How many Picky blocks is he getting daily.
The blocks are just a supplement.
He needs a variety of veggies and lettuces
    throughout the day.
Let me find a picture of what I offer mine.
I mix up the veggies every other day or so.

Edit: Here's one of the bowls from today.
    I let them graze until ~ 5:00
then I offer their second block and a salad with just the greens,
and no hard veggies or fruit.
There are things in the bowl that are only offered once weekly (little corn),
    every Monday.
    I find they like variety.

I was looking for a good picture to show you what I offer at night.
As you can see, in the first picture left hand side, a little black streak
    running off the counter.
    She LOVES radicchio.

    Nancy thats too funny

Moby will not eat that, I can barely get him to eat the block from Henry, he gets 2 a day-- but he has a hard stop when it comes to viggies which is not great

I should have posted this first so there would be no mistake.
Rich gives her the radicchio nightly, and I get to cleanup the mess.

    Short video of her shredding.

    You guys are funny.

Love the video of . . .Who is that? eating radicchio. I love black squirrels. Was told we had a population only several miles from me, but it was years ago, no idea if the genes are still there.

RamiS, will we be seeing pics of Moby? Pleeeeeease?

AWWWWW, what a beautiful chubby Boy!

Love that second pic. Reminds me of that scene in ET when he's hiding with the stuffed animals.

When he jumped off the bed, did he land on your shoulder? That's what my Love would do to me.
