    Default Hey!!

Just wanted to say Hello! I’m a contract timber faller and have rescued many baby squirrels. Currently I have been raising (3) Southern flying squirrels. Really really attached to them and just wanted to get on a forum with some folks that share the same like for little critters.

Welcome to The Squirrel Board! You're one of the good guys -- we have a few here in the Bronx near me who always bring me the baby squirrels they find.

Aren't flying squirrels the best? We have a whole forum for them if you scroll down the main page. Lot of super-knowledgeable flyer "parents" here, especially HRT4SQRLS. I have only rehabbed one and she is free in the trees now. I still miss her!

    Glad you found us.

    Red face Re: Hey!!

I’ve had my babies for over a month, I’ve taken them from the bottle to weaned and eating a large variety of foods. Every week you can expect gains it seems. I had a lil runt that I thought I was going to lose 2x but pulled him out with vitamins and electrolytes...he’s pretty much right there with his brothers now. I just got them their new cage...I opted for a 70” x 36” wide cage the other day.

Pic I posted was the week I rescued them...I’d like to post (2) videos of their transgressions and gains. The last video will be from 2 days ago...so this is kind of like a ladder from start to current. I’ll just warn ya...they love their Daddy

They are really sweet! Makes me want one or two!

    Are you gonna release them?

I plan on a release...they can’t crack acorns yet...just now doing sunflower seeds easily. I will say they have had a lot of hands on time...daily exercise last 3 weeks leaping from hand to hand at different heights and the little runt is pretty attached to me over anyone. Hoping for a good release when they show they can cut their own acorns and such.
