Default My buddy is loosing patches of hair

    Hi Folks,
I live up north Canada and I have a squirrel I have been feeding by hand for a few years now. This spring I`m noticing that he is losing patches of hair? Not sure if this is a death sentence but either way if anybody can help me get my friend help would be grateful. gets down to - 35 C here so I have 6 months to get his fur back before winter comes again if possible.
thanks in advance for any advice!

Try to get hold of either Revolution or Ivermectin this
can be eaisily treated in the wild by lacing a nut with
    the medication.
Revolution is Rx, Ivermectin can be
found in feed and /or farm stores.

Yes, ivermectin paste for horses is ok but you want it to be 1.87% ivermectin paste. You also want to be sure there are no other ingredients in it. Sometimes manufacturers add other components to treat a variety of conditions in horses with one product.

Ivermectin is very strong and can be lethal if too much is given. You only want to treat with an amount that is the size of a grain of rice.

An UNCOOKED grain of rice. It is a very small amount, and the 1.87% gel or paste is usually flavored to appeal to horses so the squirrels are fine with it. If you pack your dose into the creases on the back of a pecan half it couldn't be easier to administer! Dose ONCE, then repeat in 7-10 days, and if possible, 7-10 days after that. Three total is best. The mites lay eggs which are not killed by the treatment so the 7-10 day waiting period is designed to let eggs hatch so they are killed by the 2nd dose, and so on.

    Ok,
I picked this up today and it is hard to gauge as it's a liquid. I put a drop on half a pecan,
I couldn't see anywhere on the label if it had anything else in it? I uploaded the SDS in hopes if you can see anything that I`m missing, please?
I will wait to give him the pecan until I hear back from you to make sure everything is good to go.

Thanks so much for everybody's help with this!!!

It looks like it is a 1% strength of ivermectin. I couldn’t see any other ingredients listed so I’d say it was safe to give, as long as you we’re able to get 1 small drop as a dose. Remember you must repeat it in 7-10 days to kill any eggs that hatch.
