Hello.
My name is Amanda and this is my second baby squirrel rescue.
The first was rehabbed &successfully released into the wild to live life to the fullest❤🙂
My newest member did not find me soon enough.
She was found still unable to walk.
A man was going to kill it, presuming it was paralyzed.
His friend intervened and saved it.
And so she survived curled up in a scarf in a small closed cardboard box.
Was given a bowl of water and a tray of crunchy peanut butter.

I, by chance, overheard her rescuer talking about it and immediately offered to take her.

She seemed dehydrated, malnourished and sickly.
Gave her pedialyte mixed with her esibilac.
just learned the warnings.
I have no access to goat milk
Would almond milk work?
Any other substitutes?
No bloating, no constipation or diarrhea.
Giving straight esibilac and a mixture of nuts.

I've contacted rehabs with no success.
Only ones that are too far away.

Her eyes are gunky and leaking milky white sometimes.
I'm assuming from the esibilac?

She has what seems to be a sinus or respiratory infection.

I am going to move your thread to the Emergency Life threatening section. Experienced members there can help with diet and treatment. Respiratory infection (possible aspiration pneumonia) needs to be treated ASAP since it can kill in 48 hours. The white milk coming from her eyes are tears, she is in pain and distress. If she is old enough to chew on nuts, she is old enough to be on Fox Valley 20/50 formula which is MUCH, MUCH better than nuts and almond milk. You mentioned she can't walk? Is she peeing and pooping fine?

Until you hear back from members, try to locate any antibiotics that a family member might have left over. A single pill is usually enough and we can help with dosing directions. Cipro, Clavamox, and others can all work.

I apologize, I am just learning to use this forum, not sure if I am responding correctly!
She can walk, the man was going to kill her, assuming she was paralyzed. She is Just young and couldn't use her legs properly.

So I have kids and some liquid antibiotics left over.
One is
-Acyclovir they thought some mouth sores were herpes (thank God they are not &#129397
Another is
-amoxicillin 400 mgs per 5 MLS


I think I just got rid of our bag of old meds😩

She is excreting fine.
Only sneezes and sticky eyes . The stickiness was there before the milkyness.

Do not mix pedialyte with formula. Formula is to be mixed with water only....

Grand Rapids.
Rehabs are around they just don't have other squirrels.
The rehab I need is farther than I can travel. It's not that far, I don't drive😫

We need to know how much the squirrel weighs to dose the Amoxicillin. Drugs are dosed by weight.

Powdered Goat's milk is usually available in stores like WalMart, Meijer, etc. In the baking aisle with the powdered milk, condensed milk, etc.

Call Lowell Farm and Wildlife and explain you do not drive: they may be able to arrange transport from your place.

In order to dose the amoxicillin, we need to get the weight of the squirrel. The amox is 400mg/5ml. How is she doing today? Member JPlagg has some contacts that may be able to help.

This is the place I gave my squirrel to last year.
She doesn't have any other baby squirrels and has had an influx of raccoons this fall.

I was able to weigh her at 211 grams

She seems a little better. No discernible clicking.
I was able to wash her nose but her eyes ate still crusty.

She weighs 211 grams
