I have a 4 week old (roughly) squirrel. He has developed some yellow puss looking bumps.

A picture would really help. Any chance of ant bites?

How do I post pictures? I can't seem to figure it out.
How long have you had him?

Another baby like this came up with what you describe the same some sometime back,
The squirrel was found in a puddle following a hurricane in the gulf region.
Island Rehabber posted then that it looked like a Staff infection.
Go to the drug store and buy a bottle of Betadyne 10% povidone iodine. It is in the wound care aisle. If you have ever seen doctor or vet shows when they wipe a surgical site with red-orange liquid, this is what they use.
You want to dilute it. Put about 25 drops in 1/4 cup water (use warm water for the baby). I would wipe the entire area that the bumps are showing up on and then put the baby someplace warm so they can dry. Twice a day should do it. It addresses both bacterial and fungal issues and 99% of the time it works like a champ. It doesn't sting them at all. He will just be a little bit orange!

Thank you! I've had him about a week.
